Acne affects millions of people each year. There are many types of acne, but the most common type is called Acne Vulgaris. Mild to moderate types of Acne Vulgaris include whiteheads, blackheads, pustules, and papules. Serious forms of Acne Vulgaris include nodules and cysts.

Whiteheads

Whiteheads are pimples that have a white head or tip to them. The whitehead forms on the face when a pore is completely blocked with sebum (oil), cellular material and P. acnes bacteria.

Blackheads

Blackheads are similar to whiteheads, except that the pimple is only partially blocked. The black material is not dirt as some believe, but melanin (pigment of the skin). Blackheads may last a long time on the face, because they take time to drain.

Pustules

Pustules are commonly referred to as zits. They have a white head in the middle and red enflamed skin surrounding it. Pustules are usually infected with bacteria and can also be yellow or green at the head.

Papules

Papules are skin lesions or pimples that do not have a head. They are simply red in color. Be careful with papules, as squeezing them can cause scarring.

Nodules

Nodules are usually referred to as severe forms of Acne Vulgaris. A nodule is a thick lesion that is usually underneath the skins surface. They can cause scarring and be extremely uncomfortable. Many times nodules can take several months to heal. You should never try to pop a nodule. If you notice nodules under your skin, you should seek the advice and treatment from a dermatologist.

Cysts

Cysts are similar to a nodule, but are filled with infected pus. Cysts are usually 5mm or more in size and can sometimes be painful. You should never squeeze a cyst, since you can cause and internal infection. If you notice you have a cyst, you should consult with your dermatologist.br

Having taken a good look at the variety of acne treatments on the market today, I can definitely tell you that finding the best acne solution for your skin care needs is no easy task. Instead of you spending hours and hours trying to find which treatment will be best for your acne, you can relax because I have already done that work for you. The following are the top 5 things you need to know in order to pick out the best acne solution for your skin.

#1. Figure Out Your Specific Acne Problem – One of the first things you will need to do before you can figure out what acne solution will work best for you is to figure out what your specific acne problem is. Some people get acne because of the overproduction of sebum. There are other people who have problems with acne because they have too many dead skin cells. Still others may develop acne because it runs in their family. Knowing your specific problem can help you find the right product. For instance, people with sebum overproduction do well with products that contain benzoyl peroxide, while salicylic acid is a great ingredient for those who deal with too many dead skin cells.

#2. Consider the Ingredients – Next you need to take a look at the ingredients that are in the acne treatment. Two of the best and most popular ingredients are salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. Sometimes you will find them in a product individually, while in other cases they are used together. One thing to avoid is products that contain alcohol, since they often can be drying to the skin.

#3. Find Out About Side Effects – Before you make your choice of an acne solution for your skin care needs, you also will want to take a look at the side effects. There are many different acne treatments that have side effects that are less than desirable. Some may dry out your skin, others may irritate your skin and cause a rash. You definitely do not want to use products that will make your acne worse or cause you to have other skin problems. So, make sure you find out about any possible side effects before you start using a new acne treatment product.

#4. Determine Your Skin Type – Knowing your skin type is extremely important when you are picking out the best acne solution for your skin as well. Some people have oily skin, others have dry skin, and some may even have a combination of both oily and dry skin. There are a variety of acne products that are developed for specific skin types. For instance, a person that has very oily skin may want to go for a product that will help reduce the oil. Those who have dry skin will want to go with acne treatments that will not dry their skin out further. People who have sensitive skin should make sure that they use only gentle products that do not irritate their skin as well.

#5. Look for a Product Guarantee – Another thing I have found to be extremely effective when trying to find the best acne solutions is to look for products that have a guarantee. When you find acne treatments that are guaranteed, this means that the company that makes them is so convinced that their product can help you that they are willing to fully stand behind their product. If you purchase products that have a guarantee, then you can get your money back in the event that they do not work. However, more than likely a product that is guaranteed is probably going to provide you with the acne clearing results that you want and need.

So, there you have it. My list of five great things to consider when trying to find the right acne solution among the masses. Next time you go shopping for a new acne treatment, keep these tips in mind, and no doubt you’ll find it much easier to get a great product the first time instead of having to purchase many different products before finding the one that works for you.

I believe that one of the factors that contributed to my having no lasting effects from acne was because I had very oily skin. When I say oily, I mean “oily”, at the time I saw it as punishment for not scrubbing my face enough or eating the wrong food like too many fried fries, my self-esteem was around zero and anybody even with a few pimples ranked above me.

Some suggested things I could do to help the problem, some were pretty lame, like I shouldn’t look in the mirror and they didn’t know that the mirror had a mind of its own, its pull was enormous. It was difficult not to be drawn to the thing that would let me evaluate the advancement of a given pimple; was it at the squeezable stage or did I have to live another day waiting. One glance could make a huge difference in how I felt for the rest of the day, I was sure everybody was looking at that pimple waiting to see if it would pop. My defense was to let my hair hang down and to lower my head to hide it as much as possible. I had the compounded problem of oily skin and very oily hair, which is not uncommon with acne. My oily hair was acerbating the problem and letting it hang down onto my face didn’t help, if anything it made it worse.

I know you came to the site because you were looking for answers and here are a few home remedies for acne that I feel may really be of benefit, they all have been tried and had good results. These all are an alternative treatment for acne, that may help and save money on the commercial products.

Home Remedies for Acne

Lavender compresses work well to relieve the inflammation that goes with acne. To make, start by soaking two tablespoons of dried lavender in a jug of hot water. Soak strips of bandage in the hot mixture and apply to the face.

Vegetable juices – Juicing of vegetables is the best way of getting all the nutrients from the vegetables, the juices are more easily absorbed by the body helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables and will give a wider selection of vegetables that you might not consume on their own. Cucumber and carrots are especially good for the treatment of acne.

Cucumber juice – Squeeze out the juice and apply to the pimples using a cotton ball.

Egg white mask – Beat an egg white until frothy, dip a cotton ball into the egg and apply on clean face, wait a few hours and wash. The majority of teens testing this method found a definite difference, fewer blackheads, whiteheads, redness, size of pores and left the skin smooth and soft. That would have been enough of a reason for me to try.

Tea bag presses – take used tea bag that hasn’t had the water squeezed out, place on the pimples dab it on the pimples; this will help bring pimples to a head quicker. Rinse off your face. A tea rinse on oily hair also helps with the oiliness and gives the hair a shine.

Banana Mask – Before going to bed scrape the inside peel of a ripe banana and apply to the affected area, cover with surgical gauze and tape in place. The sugar and enzymes will fight infection and draw out impurities.

Big Rewards Come Later – There has been a big reward resulting from having a very oily skin and hair. When my friends, that hadn’t dealt with oiliness, are spending a lot of money on finding the right products to prevent wrinkles or dry skin, I just wash my face with dove. I don’t give wrinkles a thought. Up until my 40’s I still had some residual oiliness, but nothing that gave me any problems. I am in my late 60’s now- Oh, my God I can’t be that I’m that old, I know that sounds ancient to you. Seems amazing that the feelings associated with teens have stayed so fresh in my mind, but I don’t think anybody who has had acne, regardless of age, will ever. It doesn’t mean it has ruined our lives; I have a few not readily noticeable wrinkles at the corners of my eyes but not other signs of aging that are expected at my age, without cosmetic surgery. At long last the problem that was so devastating in my youth has had a huge payoff. It makes me want to strut, when people can’t believe my true age. I’m not saying I had to wait till this stage of my life to start looking good, once past the teens, my face lost some of the oiliness and I bid goodbye to the pimples and blackheads; I knew that I was looking pretty dam good and my self esteem was returning.

Thankfully if treatments like the home remedies above don’t work enough, there are over-the-counter products that can help and if necessary a trip to the dermatologist may be needed.

Acne normally hits your kids at the worst possible time – when they’re just becoming teenagers. This is time when you want to go out the most and impress members of the opposite sex with your looks. This can be far more difficult if you have acne, and it causes many teenagers to suffer from depression, and isolate themselves from the rest of society. These kids can then, quite literally, miss the best years of their lives because of an annoying skin condition.

As most of you are aware the most common sign of acne is that you’ll get an array of pimples spread across your face. The face isn’t the only area that can be affected by acne – lots of people get it on their chest, neck and shoulders and sometimes even on their legs. Personally my own ace was far worse on my chest and shoulders than it ever was on my face so I was kinda lucky in that regard.

Acne Awareness
Parents need to be very aware of just how much upset acne can cause a teenager. We grow old quickly and forget the amount of frustration and pain that having a serious bout of acne can cause when you’re just a young kid. Teenagers can be difficult to talk to but just a simple reminder that this is just a passing phase and that their skin will clear. What you want to do is get the message into the heads that “acne is just a phase…these things too will pass.”

Self Worth Issues
One of the biggest downsides to having acne is that teenagers can feel “worthless” because their skin is so badly marked. Again this is where parents need to step in and remind their kids that this is totally wrong. Perception is reality and helping your child change their perception of acne will help change their perception of the world around them. Remind your kids that acne does not define who they are as a person or how valuable they are to their friends or the world at large.

Have them write up a list of all the things they love about their life or themselves and then use it as a kind of balance sheet against their acne problem. Sometimes we need to see the truth before we can believe it.

Speak To An Expert
If all the reassurance in the world fails to convince your son or daughter that acne is not the end of the world then maybe it’s time to go find a good dermatologist. They’ll be able to tell you exactly the best way to deal with whatever type of acne your kids have. Sometimes the reassurance of an expert is all that your child needs and is enough to put a smile back on their face.

Above all the constant reminder should be that acne won’t affect them forever and their skin will clear up and that in years to come you’ll all look back on this as a distant memory.

Tired of having your skin riddled with acne? You just want your skin to be clear again right? Discover a quick acting natural acne cure today and get rid of your acne forever.
As someone who struggled with acne growing up it was very distressing to see it follow me into my grown up years. While some people grow out of it others cannot shift those blemishes and acne breakouts permanently.

I was able to clear my skin but it was not through the use of any over the counter products promising miracle cures. Instead it was by following a very simple routine which tackled the causes of acne.

These causes include bacteria, oily skin, hormonal imbalance, clogged pores, poor diet and others. So while the over the counter treatments can be effective in the short term they rarely actually solve the problem for good.

In order to really clear up your skin you should start with these basics.

- Stick to a good diet. Stay away from heavily processed foods and greasy junk food. Replace sugary foods with fruit and vegetables where possible.

- Drink lots of water. The recommended amount is 8 glasses per day so set yourself this goal to reach. This will flush your body out and in many cases can be all you need to get clearer skin.

- Do not touch your face or pop your zits. This is difficult to avoid but it is important as you will only spread the germs around your face and lead to more blemishes. Also you may have bacteria on your fingers and actually make the problem even worse.

- If you use any products on your face such as make-up or sun creams then look for ones that are right for sensitive skin. These will be better for you than more oil based examples.

These are just some basic tips to get you started. They should help to bring out some improvements and if you can stay away from over the counter products and follow a natural treatment you can actually clear the problem permanently.

Looking for a natural Adult Acne Treatment? Then Click Here right now!
